Church of England’s endowment fund hires new responsible investment head from Lloyds

£8.7bn endowment, which is an influential voice on ethical investment and climate change, names a successor to Edward Mason, who left earlier this year

The Church Commissioners, the Church of England’s £8.7bn endowment fund, has recruited a new head of responsible investment from Lloyds Banking Group.

Bess Joffe, formerly a director of investor relations specialising in environmental, social and governance topics at the UK bank, will take up her new role with the Church on 10 August.
