Ciba Specialty Chemicals (UK) Pension Trust has hired Northern Trust Company to replace HSBC as global custodian to the £500m (€807m) pension fund.

The change in custodian comes as part of an overall annual review of the fund's providers, as well as an actuarial review, said Mark Wright, director of human resources at Ciba in Macclesfield in the UK.
