Citadel Securities is planning to open an office in Dublin in 2017 as part an expansion of its European market-making business, joining a cluster of trading firms operating in the Irish capital.

The firm, which is the institutional and retail market-making arm of Chicago-based firm Citadel, will start operations in Dublin the first quarter of 2017, subject to regulatory approval, according to people familiar with the matter.
