A senior market structure expert at Citigroup – who had been part of the leadership team at the Plato Partnership equities trading initiative – has left the bank to launch a fintech startup.

Dan Mathews, a senior vice-president for market structure and liquidity venues in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, has left Citi after six years to help launch a company called FinMesh, a utility that will develop low-cost technology to enable market participants to keep up with regulatory changes.
