Citigroup poached Deutsche Bank’s top mergers and acquisitions banker in Europe, as the US lender chases the investment banking top spot in the region by taking on senior dealmakers.
Robin Rousseau, the former Goldman Sachs dealmaker who has led Deutsche’s M&A business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa since September 2017, is the latest senior banker to depart the German lender. He is joining Citi as a vice chairman of Emea investment banking, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.
