Citi Private Bank has promoted Catherine Weir its chief executive of private banking in Europe, Middle East and Africa to head a newly created division, the Global Family Office Group, as part of an aggressive push to target the world's super rich.

In an internal statement seen by Financial News, Citi Private Bank, the wealth management arm of US bank Citi, announced the creation of the Global Family Office Group to provide services to Citi's growing number of family office clients.
