Citigroup has hired a senior dealmaker to its operations in the Nordic region, the latest senior recruit at the Wall Street bank as it looks to bolster its European investment bank.
Peter Wikström is joining Citigroup as a managing director within its Nordic banking, capital markets and advisory unit in May, according to a memo seen by Financial News. He was most recently head of business development and investments at auto manufacturer and mobility technology firm, Geely Holding, and has also worked at Rothschild as a managing director.
"The Nordic region is critically important to the success of the Emea region and we are delighted to be able to support its growth and our commitment to the Nordic region through this hiring investment," the memo from Lars Ingemarsson, says co-head of Nordic BCMA said.

Citigroup is gunning for the number one spot in the Emea investment banking fee league tables and has continued to add senior bankers in the region.
Davide Russo is set to join Citigroup as a managing director within its technology deals team in June, FN reported, while Federico Monguzzi has been promoted to head of real estate investment banking in Emea. It also hired Jens Welter from Credit Suisse in December to co-head its BCMA unit in the region.
Alison Harding-Jones, who leads its M&A unit in Emea, is set to depart later this month after six years at the bank.
