Citigroup’s former Europe chief executive Alberto Verme dies

Alberto Verme, a highly-respected dealmaker who previously led Citigroup’s European operation and its global investment bank, has died. 

Verme, latterly global chair of Citigroup’s institutional clients group, passed away on 15 February aged 65. He was a prominent City dealmaker, who occupied some of the highest positions at Citigroup during a 44-year banking career.
