Fund management veteran Martin Gilbert, the former vice-chair of Standard Life Aberdeen, has joined River & Mercantile as its deputy chair.

Gilbert, who departed Standard Life Aberdeen in September, adds the role to a long list of other boardroom commitments. He is also chair of digital bank Revolut, senior independent director at Glencore, as well as chair of Toscafund and non-executive director at London-based private family office Saranac Partners.
