As malapropisms go, it was a cracker. I'll spare the blushes of the Conservative MP who, addressing Theresa May's travails during a recent interview, described the Prime Minister as being "resilient in the face of diversity".
His slip of the tongue should have been no laughing matter in the City, however. Indeed, the phrase was unwittingly apt at a time when Westminster suddenly finds itself besieged by long-standing allegations of sexual discrimination and misconduct.
