John Glen, the City minister, has told financial services companies to go “further and faster” on gender parity and commit to women making up a third of senior managers in the coming years.

Speaking at an event to mark three years since the UK Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter was signed in March 2016, the economic secretary to the Treasury praised progress made but said “there can be no hiding from the uncomfortable truth that we still have a long way to go”.
