Deadline looms for City’s ‘racism’ review of statues

Respondents so far have mentioned several statues at Guildhall, the City Corporation’s headquarters

The deadline for City denizens to give their thoughts on landmarks linked to racism in Canary Wharf and the Square Mile is fast approaching, the City of London Corporation has warned.

The consultation, first launched in September, has amassed more than 800 responses, according to the group’s 10 November statement, and it ends on 24 November. The authority asked for feedback on controversial statues following the Black Lives Matter protests earlier this year.
