The two top officers of Euronext, the pan European exchange which beat the London Stock Exchange in the race to acquire Liffe, the futures and options exchange, have been awarded "Freedom of the City of London", one of the financial district's oldest awards.
Jean-François Théodore, chairman and chief executive of Euronext, and George Möller, chief operating officer, were nominated by the previous Lord Mayor Alderman, Sir Michael Oliver, and Dame Judith Mayhew, chairman of the policy and resources committee of the Corporation of London.
