The Lord Mayor of the City of London, the ambassador for the UK's financial services industry, has met with the minister responsible for China's new sovereign wealth fund in an effort to persuade it to establish a presence in London.
Alderman John Stuttard, the Lord Mayor, and Lou Jiwei, the chairman of the $200bn (€139bn) China Investment Corporation met in the course of Stuttard's tour of several Asian countries, a spokeswoman for the Lord Mayor confirmed.
