The City of London plans to cut traffic on major roads to help it cope with the increased number of people expected to work in Square Mile skyscrapers in the coming years.

Proposals for restricting traffic on roads including St Mary Axe — home of the iconic Gherkin building — Leadenhall Street and Lime Street were tabled at a local plans sub-committee meeting on September 19.
