Cleartrade Exchange rolls out China steel swaps

The Singapore-based trading platform allows foreign investors to hedge exposure to steel production in China, which is fast becoming the global hub for metals trading

The Singapore-based trading platform Cleartrade Exchange has launched two new steel derivative contracts as it looks to tap growing demand among foreign companies and investors to access to the Chinese metals market.

The new contracts will allow foreign investors to hedge their exposures to fluctuations in the price of steel produced in China, which now accounts for almost half of the world's steel production.
