Clerical Medical Investment Management, the asset management arm of UK bank HBOS, has appointed two new fund managers to its equity teams.

Richard Howarth joins the six-strong European equity team as a UK portfolio manager. He was previously a director in the asset management division of Brewin Dolphin, specialising in pension funds, charities, private unit trusts and open-ended investment companies. In his new role, he reports to Roisin Magee, head of European equities.
