Clifford Chance boosts junior lawyers’ pay to £125,000

The battle for talent with US law firms has pushed pay including bonuses up to £160,000

Magic Circle law firm Clifford Chance has raised pay for newly-qualified lawyers to £125,000 per year.

The firm is the second in the top tier of the UK legal profession to raise pay for juniors, hiking packets by nearly 16%. Last month Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer announced a pay rise for its junior lawyers from £100,000 to £125,000, the Financial Times reported.
