Close Brothers Corporate Finance, the mergers and acquisitions arm of the UK investment bank, has hired Alain Le Berre for its European special situations group.

Le Berre joins as a director. He was previously a partner with accountancy firm Ernst & Young's transaction advisory services team in Paris, and was a partner with Andersen Corporate Finance before its merger with Ernst & Young.
