CMA fines four banks £100m over gilt information sharing

Citigroup, HSBC, Morgan Stanley and Royal Bank of Canada handed penalties

The UK’s competition regulator has fined four banks a total of more than £100m after their traders exchanged sensitive information about government bonds.

The Competition and Markets Authority handed out penalties to Citigroup, HSBC, Morgan Stanley and Royal Bank of Canada following an investigation into conduct between 2009 and 2013.
