CMC founder Peter Cruddas lands House of Lords seat

The appointment comes despite the independent House of Lords Appointments Commission telling the Prime Minister it could not support it

Peter Cruddas, founder of FTSE-250 trading firm CMC Markets and one of the City's biggest political donors, has been nominated by Boris Johnson to enter the House of Lords.

The appointment of Cruddas comes despite the independent House of Lords Appointments Commission telling the Prime Minister it could not support the appointment following cash-for-access allegations made during Cruddas’ term as co-treasurer of the Conservative Party.
