The £28bn mineworkers and coal pension schemes are to invest a further £560m (€902m) in private equity opportunities.

The decision by trustees of the Mineworkers' Pension Scheme and British Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme sees the asset allocation increasing from 3% to 5%. This brings total investment in private equity to £1.4bn.
