CoinShares CEO Jean-Marie Mognetti believes that London’s lack of intersection between crypto and traditional finance might limit its potential to fully exploit opportunities in the emerging asset class.

Mognetti — whose career began with a stint in Lehman Brothers’ energy trading desk, followed by stepping into partnership in 2011 at commodity hedge fund Global Advisors — told Financial News that New York’s crypto industry experienced a “potent fusion” of traditional finance professionals and Silicon Valley’s technology prowess.
