A colleague of a man who killed himself at the London Stock Exchange in August tried to save him before he fell from a balcony within the firm’s Paternoster Square lobby, an inquest in London heard today.
Angelo Proni, head of new markets at the London Stock Exchange, ran over to IT consultant and LSE employee Christopher Woolnough when he saw him step over the ledge of a seventh floor balcony. Proni grabbed him by the arm and told him “don’t do it” before Woolnough fell to his death on 15 August shortly after 10am.
