Comment: The rise and rise of Stuart Gulliver

Stuart Gulliver’s star has risen astronomically at HSBC since his move to Europe to run the global markets business in 2003. Next February, 30 years after joining the company, his duties will be expanded drastically once again in a move that will surely boost his credentials as a future group chief executive at the world’s second biggest bank.

Gulliver is already an executive director of HSBC and chief executive of its global banking and markets and global asset management businesses.
