Commerzbank is continuing to recruit staff for its mergers and acquisitions team as well as for equity research, despite its merger talks with Dresdner Bank.

The bank announced on June 19 that it is in alliance discussions with its larger rival, Dresdner Bank. Speculation has been rife since then about staff losses at both banks amid the uncertainty of merger talks, and opinion among analysts is divided.
