Commerzbank Securities has decided to merge its technology and telecoms equity research teams, just weeks after combining its equity and debt research coverage.

Darren Ward, currently head of telecoms research, will lead the new team, which will look for "crossover" insights by analysing the relative bargaining power of telecom and IT service providers. A spokesman for the bank said that no redundancies would be made as a result of the move.
