Companies face the end of pension contribution holidays

Pension experts in the UK are predicting that an avalanche of companies will be forced to follow Unilever, the consumer goods giant, and restart pension fund contributions after a decade-long break.

Unilever said that the move was essential "in view of the current performance and trend in equity markets" as it reaffirmed its commitment to its £4.2bn (€6.6bn) final salary scheme.
