The controversy over analysts' independence has caused an information blight

Controversy over the independence of analysts is hindering the ability of companies to communicate with the market.

The Investor Relations Society (IRS), Europe's leading representative body of the IR industry, said last week that "one of the effects of the current problems with sellside analysts is that companies are finding that the information flow between them and the market is being reduced."
