Compass probe unearths 'serious irregularities'

An investigation by law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has found "serious irregularities" in contracts awarded by the United Nations to Compass Group, the UK caterer where part of its business is being eyed by private equity groups.

Compass Group said in a statement today that the investigation focused on the relationships between Compass subsidiary Eurest Support Services, IHC Services, a procurement company, and the United Nations.
