The Nordic market has long been attractive for private equity. Bolstered by a stable macroeconomic climate, alongside a long-term investment culture, the market remained resolute through the financial crisis and is still popular.
In 2014, the region recorded private equity deals worth $12.7 billion, according to Dealogic, a seventh of the overall European market. Last year's figures placed the region in line with the thriving German market, which raked in $12.2 billion worth of deals. It was a strong year for exits too, with total divestments reaching $13.3 billion - a 269% increase on the previous year.
