Concern grows over CSA payment inertia

An overhaul of the way asset managers allocate commissions for execution and research is under way as market participants look to overcome problems

The way in which fund managers pay commissions to their executing brokers and research providers has long been a divisive topic, but it is fast becoming even more contentious.

UK regulators are investigating how these payments are sometimes allocated in return for corporate access, whereby brokers arrange meetings for fund managers with senior executives.
