Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the UK's opposition Labour Party, will today promise tougher rules on foreign takeovers of British firms, in a speech taking aim at the "destructive", "pernicious" and "undemocratic" power of "deregulated finance".

Corbyn, who hails from the left wing of his party, will launch a stinging rebuke of "out of control financial wizardry", "too-big-to-fail banks" and "casino financial institutions" in a speech to EEF, the manufacturers' lobby.
