Corporate actions remain risk area, says Trace

The ability to send and receive electronic instructions in any format is key to a problem that has dogged the securities industry for some time, according to London-based IT firm Trace Financial.

The difficulty in automating corporate actions, central to enabling the industry to move to shorter settlement times, is bound up in the fact that firms have built their own systems which cannot talk to each other and rely on too much manual intervention.
