A US court has given a five-year jail sentence to Joseph Zumwalt, who had pleaded guilty to soliciting money for a purported hedge fund.

The Securities and Exchange Commission said the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida had also ordered Zumwalt to pay criminal restitution of almost $4.5m (€3.5m).
