Credit Suisse doubles job cuts to 1,000

Credit Suisse, Switzerland's second largest investment bank, is cutting a further 500 staff across its investment banking division, bringing its total losses so far this year to 1,000, or 5% of its investment banking employees.

The bank made 500 job cuts in January in an effort to pare costs in light of the financial market downturn.
