Credit Suisse and Goldman lead UK energy provider tie-up

Investment bankers at Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs are leading a planned merger that would create a new energy provider in the UK with about 11.5 million customers.

British energy group SSE and Germany's Innogy plan to merge their respective UK household energy businesses, SSE Retail and npower, to form a new, London-listed company held by SSE shareholders with a minority holding kept my Innogy.
