Credit Suisse employees who uncover bad behaviour are being rewarded with bigger bonus payments, as the Swiss bank looks to crack down on internal control failures that have led to a string of fines from regulators in recent months.

Chief executive Tidjane Thiam said the bank is offering "positive rewards" to staff who  reveal the sort of rogue behaviour that could land the bank in trouble.
