Credit Suisse has hired a director for its private banking division in South Africa, amid moves by wealth managers to grab a share of this promising market.

Alexander Langen, who will be based in London, joins from EFG Private Bank London, where he was a senior director responsible for Southern and Eastern Africa for the last nine years, according to an internal memo.
