Credit Suisse has agreed a deal to recommend its hedge fund clients to BNP Paribas after the Swiss bank decided to largely shutter the unit as part of a broader overhaul of its business.

The Swiss bank said that it has entered into a 'referral agreement' for its prime services customers with BNP Paribas, meaning Credit Suisse is encouraging clients to shift across to the French lender.
