Credit Suisse has overtaken UBS as the top bank for European equity trading and execution, according to Thomson Reuters Extel’s annual industry survey, but its Swiss rival continues to dominate in research after taking the number one spot for the ninth consecutive year.

Credit Suisse jumped four places to claim the title of best European brokerage firm for equity trading and execution, pushing last year's winner UBS into second position with Deutsche Bank in third.
