When Credit Suisse’s shotgun marriage to rival UBS was unveiled in March, many senior dealmakers at the beleaguered bank did not even have to dust off their CVs.

Conversations with rival banks, which started during the previous year as Credit Suisse battled successive crises, were simply picked up where they left off, according to bankers contacted by Financial News.
