Sir Nigel Wicks, the former UK Treasury official, has been appointed chairman of CrestCo, the settlement service for UK and Irish securities.

Sir Nigel was one of the leading UK government officials of his generation, and has remained in the public eye since retiring from government. He recently served as the UK representative on the EU committee of &quotwise men&quot headed by Alexandre Lamfalussy which reported on European securities regulation.
