Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) has promoted Stefano Natella to global head of equity research, just days after it emerged that the bank was considering resurrecting the Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) brand for independent research.

Natella, who was formerly European head of equities, will relocate to the New York offices of the investment banking arm of the Credit Suisse group. He replaces Al Jackson, who will now have a supervisory role as chairman of both equities and fixed-income research.
