eVestment Company has beaten Cube8.com to buying Capital Exchange, the group that matches entrepreneurs seeking equity finance with investors.

However, Cube8.com, the AIM-quoted technology, media and telecoms incubation and investment group, has not lost out altogether. It has also made an acquisition this week, buying a 70% stake in Planet Three, an e-commerce consultancy and software development company.
