As the custody industry has consolidated, the quality of staff has improved as the cream has risen to the top. Senior staff in custody today are of as high a calibre as will be found anywhere in financial services.

This at least is the official view, and the line peddled by an assortment of custodians and headhunters singing lustily from the corporate hymn sheet. It is not necessarily a widespread view, let alone a universal one.
