CVC appoints ‘Prince of Darkness’

Tim Parker, former chief executive of roadside assistance group AA, has remained in the fold of private equity following his appointment as a partner at CVC Capital Partners.

Parker was set to “pursue new business projects outside the AA” after buyout owners CVC and Permira merged the group with Saga, an insurance and leisure provider for the over-50s in a deal valuing the conglomerate at £6.15bn (€8bn) last year.
