Pia Gjellerup, the Danish minister of commerce, has urged the country's pension funds to increase their private equity investments.

Gjellerup's call came at the annual meeting of Forsikring & Pension, the Danish pension and insurance association. She stressed the importance of investing in smaller Danish companies and start-ups to aid growth of the country's industry and economy.
