The chief executive of one of Europe’s largest pension funds, Denmark’s €104bn ATP, has announced his resignation amid a growing tax-avoidance scandal.

Christian Hyldahl, who has led ATP since the start of 2017, has come under sustained pressure from Danish media and politicians in recent months because of his time as co-head of markets at Nordea, the Nordic banking group, between 2005 and 2007.
