Data battle heats up in European equity exchanges

NYSE Euronext becomes the third firm to offer to provide a 'tape of record' for European equity markets

NYSE Euronext has become the third firm to throw its hat in the ring to provide a consolidated data feed for Europe’s equities markets, in a sign that regulatory pressure to improve transparency is finally paying off.

The transatlantic exchange group yesterday said that its commercial technology division, NYSE Technologies, would provide both a real-time consolidated data feed, as well as a free, 15-minute delayed tape of record, in the third quarter of next year.
